Activation

Parse ALARA decks and output, FISPACT-II inventories, ORIGEN tapes, and R2S workflows.

The alara-io crate reads the text files the ALARA activation code consumes and produces: input decks, group fluxes, irradiation schedules, and activation-output listings. fispact-io parses FISPACT-II inventory tables into the same response-frame shape, origen-io reads the scoped ORIGEN TAPE5/TAPE6/TAPE9 files, and the r2s crate derives a rigorous two-step shutdown-dose-rate workflow from an ALARA deck. No activation solving happens here — transport and transmutation stay inside their respective codes.

ALARA input decks

A deck is a sequence of blocks (geometry, mixture, flux, schedule, pulsehistory, cooling, …). The demo parses deck text into a JSON summary with block kinds, mixture compositions, flux definitions, cooling times, and raw schedule items.

Activation output

ALARA output tables and FISPACT-II inventory listings both become response rows keyed by nuclide, cooling time, geometric block, and response variable (number density, specific activity, decay heat, …). Paste a listing snippet or load the sample output, and pick the matching parser tab; when the listing carries a specific-activity table, the demo plots the reported total activity against cooling time (one trace per zone). The ORIGEN TAPE5/TAPE6/TAPE9 tabs parse the scoped ORIGEN input echo, output inventory, and decay-constant table. TAPE5 flux-vs-step renders as a scatter chart and TAPE6 per-nuclide activity as a log bar chart (chart views only, no value table); the TAPE6 tab’s Compare steps button re-parses each pasted snapshot below it with the same reader into an N-step per-nuclide series chart (same grouped log-bar bundle; multi-snapshot file grammar stays out — pasted snapshots only).

R2S workflow

r2s_from_deck links each non-void mat_loading zone to its flux block, carries the deck cooling times and top schedule, and totals the expanded irradiation history — the starting point for coupling a neutron transport mesh to activation cases. The ARMI snapshot adapter (r2s_from_snapshot) runs in the R2S snapshot tab below over an inline two-zone JSON snapshot (zone volumes, ARMI-keyed number densities, fluxes, cooling times), returning workflow steps plus the template and per-step deck count. The same tab hosts an R2S voxels section mapping zone totals onto native-mesh voxels with the VoxelTags copy (voxelTagsFromTotals copies each zone total onto its voxels or splits it conservatively; voxelPhotonSums selects and adds .photonSrc group spectra by nuclide and cooling time): per-voxel strengths render in a scatter/bar/heatmap/histogram chart bundle capped at 200 voxels, the same cap the deterministic demo applies to its RTFLUX flux profile.

Sublet S1+S2

The Sublet S1+S2 tab totals a small inventory table two ways: S1 sums per-nuclide activities into total, α/β/γ, and ex-tritium becquerels from the Table VI decay-type classes, and S2 converts caller decay energies into the α/β/γ decay-heat split in kilowatts. Rows are synthetic hand concentrations edited as JSON — one table feeds both builds.
